“The best way to celebrate the birthday of RENATA is to provide to the academic community a better network infrastructure, with better monitoring service in the ownership of our services. In July we will finish the implementation of the new network infrastructure with which Colombia will enter the top 10 of NREN - National Research and Education Networks - around the world”, says Lucas Giraldo Rios, Executive Director of RENATA.

At the recent G7 ICT Ministers’ meeting held in Kagawa, Japan (the first such meeting the G7 group has held in nearly 20 years) strong and clear recognition was made of the importance of national research and education networks (NRENs) and of the global networking of the research and education community.

Research and Education Leaders will convene in Chicago for 2016 Global Summit, where the operator of the USA largest research and education infrastructure will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
