Costa Rica receives XIV LACCEI International Conference for Engineering, Education and Technology

lacceiUnder the theme “Engineering Innovations and Global Sustainability”, the event will be held at the Hotel Marriott in San José, Costa Rica, from July 16 to 22, 2016. Registration to participate in the event is still open.

Every year, the LACCEI International Conference for Engineering, Education and Technology brings together policy makers and key stakeholders of education, science, engineering, innovation and technology to share knowledge; spark new partnerships and provide informative sessions, panels, workshops and hands-on labs on a variety of topics, such as Women and minorities in STEM; University-Industry collaboration; Engineering Programs Accreditation and Universities Social Responsibility, just to name a few.

In 2016, the event will focus on the theme “Engineering Innovations and Global Sustainability” and will be held together with the Summit of Engineering for the Americas (OEA-EFTA), that will be celebrating its 10th Edition. Representatives of over 185 institutions from 25 different countries worldwide are expected.

Among the keynotes speakers figure: Mrs. Carolina Vásquez Soto, Vice Minister of Science and Tecnología of Costa Rica; Dr. Louis Martin-Vega, President of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE); Dr. Jaime Calderón Segovia, President of the Ibero American Association of Engineering Education Institutions (ASIBEI), y la Sra. Aryanne Quintal, Specialist of the Competitiveness, Innovation and Technology Section of the Organization of American States.
