On May 11, the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP), the Academic Network of the State of São Paulo (ANSP) and the Florida International University (FIU) announced the delivery of the first international 100G connection between Latin America and the United States.
At the recent G7 ICT Ministers’ meeting held in Kagawa, Japan (the first such meeting the G7 group has held in nearly 20 years) strong and clear recognition was made of the importance of national research and education networks (NRENs) and of the global networking of the research and education community.
The event, also known as Ciki, will be held in October 31 and November 1, 2016, in Bogota, Colombia, seeking to promote the conceptual development, methodology and practice in Knowledge Management, Intellectual Capital and Innovation Management.
The Undersecretariat of Telecommunications of Chile (SUBTEL) created in 2015 the " Telecommunication Day Recognition " to honor important people for their contribution and work in the development of this important area of the technology.
