A little less than four months after the launch of the TICAL and the 2nd Latin American e-Science Meeting calls (closed on Monday, June 11), the Program Committee of the events disclosed the number of received proposals: There were 175 in total; 133 of TICAL and 42 of the Meeting of e-Science. Colombia, with 49 proposals, and Ecuador, with 37, were the most participatory countries, followed by Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

Represented by its respective Executive Directors Luis Eliécer Cadenas and Erik Huizer, the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) and the pan-European advanced network GÉANT signed this Tuesday, June 12, in the framework of the TNC18 Conference, in Trondheim, Norway, agreements of interconnection and cooperation aiming to increase the academic collaboration between the two continents.

With the aim of promoting the integration between the different actors of the ICT universe in Ecuador and sharing the best practices and lessons, establishing collaborative initiatives in the area, will take place between November 21 and 23, at the National University of Chimborazo, in the city of Riobamba, the sixth edition of the TIC.EC Conference, organized by the Ecuadorian network RedCEDIA.
