RESOURCES: The book “Government of ICT in Higher Education Institutions in Latin America from the perspective of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021. Results of the third edition of the study” is now available online

"To determine the degree of government implementation of ICT in Higher Education institutions in Latin America in the COVID-19 pandemic scenario, to assess the changes suffered during the contingency and develop guidelines that guide HEIs on the path to digital transformation from the health emergency” is the purpose of the document, presented during the TICAL2021 Conference and now available for review and download.

Part of RedCLARA's social responsibility is to drive the digital transformation of Higher Education in Latin America, through collaborative initiatives between Higher Education institutions and the National Research and Education Networks (NREN). With this in mind, every two years since 2018, the latin american network has carried out a quantitative study to understand the decision-making process of the Directors of Information and Communication Technologies regarding the ICT Government (G-TIC) from a regional perspective.

The 2021 edition of this tool reflects the articulated work of RedCLARA during the global crisis resulting from the health emergency caused by Coronavirus, which, according to UNESCO, requires more than ever efforts of “world cooperation in matters of research, innovation and capacity improvement scientific research” (UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, 2021). In this sense, the objective of this work is:

The 2019 edition of the ICT Governance Maturity Study in HEIs contributed to promoting good ICT governance practices in institutions associated with the network. The 2021 edition - "ICT Government in Higher Education Institutions in Latin America from the perspective of the COVID-19 pandemic” - presents itself as an exploratory analysis from which is possible to design actions and learning experiences that can be useful for HEIs here on.

The study was carried out during the months of December/20 and January/21.
