The BELLA II Ideathon on Innovation in Agrifood Systems in Central America and the Caribbean closed its registration period on February 2 with great success. The expectations of the registered groups were exceeded, reaching 114 participants.

The EU-LAC Digital Accelerator is launching a call to support the creation of business partnerships between a European, Latin American and Caribbean company and an innovative startup or SME from another region. The partnerships will receive acceleration services and can be created through the Matching Platform or may already exist.

LifeWatch ERIC and RedCLARA: boosting science and research in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean
The European Consortium for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research Infrastructures, LifeWatch ERIC, represented by its CEO, Christos Arvanitidis, and the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks, RedCLARA, represented by its Executive Director, Luis Eliécer Cadenas, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), for the coordination and development of cooperation activities to promote science and research in Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The LAC Technical Community consolidates collaboration and synergy opportunities in 2024
The regional Technical Community Organizations kicked off 2024 with their annual coordination meeting. Representatives of the seven organizations, including LACTLD, met on January 22-23 at Casa de Internet for Latin America and the Caribbean in Montevideo to engage in a dialogue on issues of regional impact and to conceptualize common actions.
Good news for those interested in participating in the Request for Information (RFI) recently launched by RedCLARA as part of the BELLA II project: the deadline to respond to the call, which aims to identify potential existing and/or planned connectivity infrastructure projects that could have synergies with the objectives of BELLA II, has been extended to Saturday, February 3, 2024.
