The implementation of a gender strategy is an imperative need for RedCLARA in the dynamic context of research and education in Latin America. Therefore, this Friday, March 8, the regional advanced network officially launched its institutional Gender Strategy for the coming years in the framework of the celebration of International Women's Day.

A new and efficient tool specially designed to improve knowledge and access to e-Infrastructure resources and to stimulate new collaborations in Latin America and the Caribbean is the "Ventanilla Abierta para la investigación científica en América Latina" (VAICAL), a service recently launched by RedCLARA and developed in collaboration with the National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) of the region.

"Why do we develop an Ideathon? Because we love to identify opportunities and events like this are great and special to achieve it. There is a lot of knowledge scattered in the countries of our region and our task is to integrate it for the benefit of our society." The words of Emmanuel Picado, director of Digital Agriculture of Information and Communication – IICA, at the opening session of the new BELLA II Ideathon, clearly represent the objectives and expectations of this initiative entitled "Innovation of Agrifood Systems in Central America and the Caribbean", which began on February 29th.

The new BELLA Ideathon II, entitled "Innovation of Agrifood Systems in Central America and the Caribbean" starts this Thursday, February 29, with the aim of stimulating the collaborative generation of ideas and making the agrifood systems of Central America and the Caribbean more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable. The event will begin at 15h GMT (9h from Mexico, 10h from Colombia, 12h from Brazil, Argentina and Chile) and will be broadcast live on the RedCLARA's Youtube channel.

The webinar "From the Sky to the Earth" was held on February 21 with the aim of presenting to the Mexican educational, scientific and research communitiesthe characteristics of the European Union's Earth Observation Programme, Copernicus, its benefits at the national level for solving or mitigating the effects of various problems related to climate change and disasters, and the experience of the Copernicus Academy in the region.
