RedCLARA and FIWARE Foundation sign agreement to promote smart digital technology

A cooperation agreement focus on promoting technological standards that improve the quality of services in cities, countries, or regions, based on transparency, best practices, and citizen participation, is the focus of the cooperation agreement signed by RedCLARA and FIWARE Foundation, in the framework of the "9th FIWARE Global Summit", held in June in Vienna (Austria).

FIWARE Foundation is a charitable, non-profit legal entity whose mission is to build an open and sustainable ecosystem around software platform standards that facilitate the development of new smart applications in multiple sectors. Through this agreement, the parties are interested in collaborating in areas such as building ecosystems in smart cities, agriculture, water, and smart industry, providing guidelines on how to use FIWARE technology for open standards.

On behalf of the entities, the agreement was signed by FIWARE Foundation CEO, Ulrich Ahle, and RedCLARA Executive Director, Luis Eliécer Cadenas, and it will be in force for one year from the date of its signature, automatically extendable for similar periods.

The agreement establishes the basic principles of cooperation for non-commercial activities, including research and training projects, programmes, and dissemination activities.

Specifically, the parties will facilitate the connection between FIWARE Foundations members and RedCLARA member networks for the identification of innovation projects and applications of interest; promote the integration of disruptive technologies (IoT, blockchain, cloud/edge computing, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and others) within FIWARE, to address social challenges; and collaborate in the definition of general guidelines for the architecture of smart applications based on the FIWARE Context Broker technology.

In addition, they will seek to establish coordination mechanisms to pool resources and carry out activities to disseminate reports, research, and knowledge of digital technologies related to smart applications, as well as other communication activities identified in the agreement.
