RedCLARA seeks interns for new projects in scientific data management

The Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) is involved in the deployment of two new projects in scientific data management and seeks for six interns who will be added to the initiative's development team.

The projects in question are MiLAB, a regional platform that will operate in the cloud and will be built by RedCLARA to support data management activities of the research groups in the associated National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), and LA-CoNGA -Physics, an ERASMUS+ project, funded by the European Union, whose objective is to bring the transition that is currently underway, from a long-term industrial era to an information-based economy, to eight Latin American higher education institutions in the Andean region (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela) with the support of local and European allies.

The working group where the interns will be inserted will be responsible for the design, deployment, configuration, integration, testing and documentation of Git-based version management systems, Data repositories, Document repositories (Dspace), and Jupyter notebooks, among others.

The internship program will take place until December 10, 2020. Interested persons must be students from institutions affiliated to the NRENs that are part of RedCLARA (see list in the section ABOUT >> MEMBERS on RedCLARA’s website), and ideally from graduate or post-graduate careers, with availability of 12 hours per week. Candidates must have confidence in the use of computers and a high degree of organization and self-management, in addition to knowledge of Linux, use of the terminal and standard commands (BASH).

Applications must be made from July 29 to August 7, 2020, through the URL https://encuestas.redclara.net/index.php/518269. In case of doubts about the requirements, please contact pasantias-milab@redclara.net.
