Registration open for Barcelona workshop on networks for performing arts

Expired

Building on the success of previous workshops, the third European Network Performing Arts Production workshop will be held on 15-17 June 2011 in Barcelona, Spain. It will focus on the technology requirements for performing arts education, multi-site performance events, and high quality netcasting over advanced research networks.

Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona Hosted by the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and organized by TERENA with support by RedIRIS, the Spanish national research and education network (NREN) and the Supercomputing Centre of Catalonia (CESCA), the workshop will include a mix of hands-on audio and video production techniques and presentations for those interested in the technical aspects of producing high quality network performing arts events.

This event will provide attendees the opportunity to 'learn, touch and play' with diverse solutions as well as understand more about the network performing arts scene. Participants will learn how audiovisual and network transmissions can support teaching, auditions and remote performances, see demonstrations of various tools and applications and enjoy live performances such as a masterclass with the New World Symphony and a performance by dancers in Brazil and Barcelona.

All registrations must be finalised on or before the end of Tuesday 31 May 2011.
