11th GLIF Workshop + CineGrid@Rio 2011

Rio de Janeiro, September 13 to 15, 2011. Organized for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere, the event will bring together researchers and specialists from various academic networks worldwide to discuss how to improve communications with virtual end-to-end circuits (usually) of high capacity.

The activity will also feature technology demonstrations of state of the art communications and collaboration in circuit networks. On its last day, the 11th GLIF Workshop will have a program specially dedicated to one of the most intensive users of high capacity networks: the digital cinema community. The tools and technologies that will be introduced are still barely known in Brazil and Latin America: collaborative online video editing applications and streaming of movies in super-high-definition (4K).
