The event, to be held on October 17 to 19, 2011, is organized by the Red RITDT (Coordinated by Daniel Diaz Ataucuri, Director of Research and Technological Development INICTEL-UNI and member of the Peruvian Academic Network-RAAP) and is part of the Ibero-American Programme for Science, Technology and Development, CYTED. As part of the Second International Seminar on Digital Terrestrial Television 2011, on October 17th to 19th, 2011 will take place the International Seminar on Interactive Digital Television and Social Inclusion, event organized by the Ibero-American Network for the development of digital terrestrial television and interactive applications (RITDT) of the Ibero-American Programme for Science, Technology and Development, CYTED.

The purpose of the activity is to strengthen existing research groups in Latin America around the development of interactive applications for Digital Terrestrial Television to promote digital inclusion in the region, identifying the development of these applications primarily in the field of health and education.

The program

The agenda of the Monday October 17th will include the CYTED meeting with a report of advances in interactive applications of the member countries of the RiTdT and a presentation on the prospects and progress of research and development in Latin America Ginga Middleware by Dr . Luiz Fernando Gomes Soares. Furthermore, it will involve the participation of representatives of television channels from Peru, Argentina (by videoconference) and Brazil (by videoconference).

On Tuesday 18th will take place the identification of joint activities of the RiTdT - CYTED research groups, the definition of the venue of the Second RiTdT Meetings and the development of the RiTdT working sessions.

The program of the Wednesday 19th will start with the words of welcome from the INICTEL-UNI Director, Mr. Modesto Tomas Palma Garcia, and will continue with presentations on the prospects for digital terrestrial television and interactive applications in Latin America, ITU Standard Middleware GINGA TdT - IPTV, Experiences and Projections for the Implementation of Interactive Digital Television and Interactive Digital Television and Social Inclusion. This day will be held the awards ceremony and presentation of the first and second place in the competition "America on Interactive Applications." (See the complete program of the seminar, here)

Simultaneously, during the three days of the event will be held a training workshop on Middleware will Ginga II issues that will include topics such as the Lua Framework for DTV application development, management of editing commands, application design patterns, generation of TS : Carousel of objectives and editing commands and use of devices.
