RENATA will transmit International Seminar on e-Culture

TICThe event that will take place on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 November 2010 will bring together academics from Europe, USA, Australia and Colombia to discuss the opportunities and risks generated by the Internet in the minors and the general public. Those who want to follow the event can do so through the transmission that will be available at the site of the national network of Colombia (Access HERE).

Academics from Europe, USA, Australia and Colombia will meet on the Internet on November 10 and 11, 2010 in the auditorium of the Virgilio Barco Library of Bogotá, to share their studies on the opportunities and risks of the Internet for those under age and the general public in the context En TIC confio (on ICT We Trust), International Seminar on Digital Culture: Socialization of the National Policy on Responsible Use of ICT.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia and National University of Colombia will involve the participation of lawyers, psychologists, criminologists, engineers and other professionals interested in Information and Communication Technologies ( ICT), who will connect more than ten cities in Colombia and Latin America, through RENATA signal and its connection with RedCLARA.

According to the website of the event (www.enticconfio.org), the seminar will identify the latest academic findings from the mouth of Robert Faris, research director of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University (USA) Daniel Solove, a professor at George Washington University, author of bestseller "The Future of Reputation" Julian Dooley, Director of cyberbullying from Edith Cowan University in Australia, and Leslie Haddon, a professor at the London School of Economics (United Kingdom ) and co-director of European research project on children online (EU Kids Online) who will presented the results of the European debate on the subject, held just days before the seminar in Luxembourg.

With this seminar, the Ministry of ICT aims to not only promote the use of internet but to improve the quality of life of citizens by the responsibly use of ICT.
