14 de junio: Convocatoria del BID INTAL para Financiar Investigaciones sobre infraestructura y conectividad en ALC

The Inter-American Development Bank's Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL), in collaboration with the Infrastructure and Energy Sector of the IDB and the Interdisciplinary Institute of Political Economy (IIEP UBA-CONICET) of Argentina, has launched a call for proposals to finance research projects that examine the relationship between infrastructure, connectivity, and integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. The organizers will select up to six proposals for funding.

.

Research on the relationship between infrastructure, connectivity, and integration is crucial for identifying improvement opportunities, overcoming barriers, and promoting sustainable and equitable development throughout the region.

Researchers, universities, and expert groups are the target audience for this call. It seeks to generate diagnoses and intervention proposals in areas such as impact measurement, interactions and effects between trade and infrastructure, specific regional integration initiatives, and relevant regulatory frameworks and policies.

The terms and conditions are available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese on the website, along with all the necessary information for applications. The deadline for submitting proposals has been extended until June 14.

Infrastructure interconnection and connectivity improvement are fundamental elements for promoting integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. Adequate infrastructure facilitates the flow of goods, services, and people. Furthermore, increased digital and physical connectivity not only reduces transportation and logistics costs, but also fosters economic cooperation and strengthens commercial and cultural ties between nations.
