November 8 and 9: International Funders Workshop: The Future of Research Software

The Research Software Alliance (ReSA) and the Netherlands e-Science Center are organizing a two-day international workshop in Amsterdam with the aim of setting the future agenda for national and international funders in its support for the development of sustainable research software. The event counts with the support and participation of RedCLARA, 

In workshop sessions, participants will discuss how funders can contribute to the following workshop themes:

  • Structurally improving sustainability and reuse of research software
  • Designing funding mechanisms to sustain research software communities
  • Combining funding mechanisms to support sustainable research software
  • Improving the research software skills of researchers and research support staff
  • Supporting the recognition and career paths of people involved in research software

Confirmed panelists include Daniel S. Katz, Chief Scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), Carole Goble, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Manchester, UK, Fabio Kon, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo (IME-USP) and Joeri van Leeuwen, senior astronomer at ASTRON, the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy.
