As part of the celebrations of Cybersecurity Month in October, the Chilean Advanced Network, REUNA, and the Vice-Rectorate of Information Technologies (VTI) of the University of Chile, with the support of the University Cybersecurity Collaboration Network (UCISO), the Chilean Society for Information Security (Sochisi) and the Chilean Institute of Law and Technologies (ICDT), launched the virtual course "Cybersecurity for Higher Education: Regulatory Aspects and Security Fundamentals".

French-Costa Rican Guy de Téramond Peralta was one of the 2023 inductees into the Internet Hall of Fame. De Téramond is the former Costa Rican Minister of Science and Technology, a post in which he led the Advanced Internet Network project to bring broadband connectivity to the entire country.

Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands will share its experience in raising awareness of the importance of cybersecurity among its staff at the third and final session of the series of meetings promoted by GÉANT as part of the "Cybersecurity Month 2023: Become a cyberhero" campaign.
