December 18, 2020: Successful closing of the second semester internships for MiLAB and LACoNGA

The five interns who completed the process oversaw the deployment, configuration, testing and integration of computational computing systems (Jupyter notebooks), user interface (Django), version control (gitlab) and SAML 2.0 federated authentication.

The interns were led by Alexander Martínez, from UIS - Colombia, and worked with infrastructure services in the cloud of the LACoNGA project and CEDIA (Ecuadorian academic network), which provided their infrastructure services to carry out the project's server deployments.

Thanks to the work of the five interns, we now have the base version for the virtual learning project in Advanced Physics in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela (laconga.redclara.net) and a conceptual version of the data management system for groups research in Latin America - MiLAB. With the first project, a specialization in Physics will begin in 2021, while, with the second, a robust system will be created to face the challenge of reproducibility of Science in the region.

The interns who completed the process and whom RedCLARA thanks for their commitment, dedication and work were:

  • Christian Ariel Asch Burgos, University of Costa Rica - Costa Rica
  • Luis Eduardo Sepúlveda Rodríguez, Technological University of Pereira - Colombia
  • Adrian Rodrigo Padilla Segarra, Yachay Tech - Ecuador
  • Edwin Armando Bedolla Montiel, University of Guanajuato - Mexico
  • Oscar De la Cruz Echeveste, University of Guanajuato - Mexico
