The D4D Hub (Digital for Development Hub), in collaboration with the EU-LAC Digital Alliance and under the framework of Global Gateway, will hold a workshop focused on digital investments and cybersecurity. The event aims to strengthen digital cooperation between the European Union (EU) and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and will take place on April 9 and 10, 2025, at the Spanish Cooperation Training Center in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

Santiago de Chile will be the epicenter of one of the most important meetings for development in Latin America and the Caribbean: the Annual Meeting of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest), the IDB’s private sector area.
Brazil's experience in supercomputing and its impact on research and innovation served as a source of inspiration for the second session of the Call for Ideas, organized by the SPIDER project and RedCLARA. This initiative aims to stimulate the development of proposals, projects, prototypes, and collaborative ventures that leverage the BELLA project, fostering the collaborative generation of initiatives between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.
As part of the Call for Ideas organized by the SPIDER project and RedCLARA, the second inspirational talk will take place, aiming to further drive the collaborative creation of projects and ventures that leverage BELLA’s infrastructure for digital transformation between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Building technological solutions based on successful initiatives already implemented—remedies that can complement each other while fostering new, scalable, and locally adaptable proposals with a regional approach that promotes cooperation and collaboration among stakeholders—is essential to addressing development challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean.

As part of the activities under the Call for Proposals to leverage BELLA connectivity, launched by the SPIDER project and RedCLARA, the first inspirational talk was held, titled "AI for Borderless Scientific Discovery: The Case of the ALeRCE Astronomical Broker." This session aimed to highlight innovation and collaboration opportunities in the scientific field through artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and shared digital resources.
