Now available: 1st edition of the Compendium CLARA LA NRENs
This publication, produced with funding of the @ LICE2 Programme of the European Commission, represents the status of eleven of the thirteen networks connected to RedCLARA until the first week of November 2009. Thanks to the funding of the ALICE2 project, by the European Commission through the @LIS2 Programme, CLARA Compendium of Latin American National Research and Education Networks 2009 is now a reality.
According to the introduction of the document, this initiative comes in response to demand for comparable data between different networks connected to CLARA, raised from the fields of science, government, and from the National Research and Education Networks (NREN) in Europe, North America, Asia and Latin America.
In its development, this first edition of the compendium considered the thirteen NRENs of the countries in the region that are partners of the ALICE2 project and that are connected to CLARA, of which eleven responded. The results represent the situation until the first week of November 2009, of these networks and include information on the history and the biggest changes in the NREN; users and / or customers; networks and connectivity services; traffic; funding, and work teams.
