CUDI presents to innovation leaders from the EU and Latin America at the ENRICH Connect forum

On 19 May, Dr Moisés Torres, Director-General of the University Corporation for Internet Development (CUDI), took part in a session at ENRICH Connect, an international forum that brings together innovation centres from the European Union and Latin America to share best practice and explore opportunities for collaboration in the fields of innovation, business acceleration and regional integration.

The Director-General also outlined CUDI’s technical capabilities: a backbone network operating on a ring-based architecture, as well as international interconnections with research networks such as Internet2-UCAID (United States), RENATA (Colombia), REUNA (Chile), RNP (Brazil), CEDIA (Ecuador), CONARE (Costa Rica) and RedCLARA, which serves as the regional interconnection point for National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in Latin America.
Among the services and projects highlighted by Dr Torres were: the eduroam educational roaming service, shared repositories and academic publishing platforms, supercomputing and artificial intelligence communities, the GPU sharing project (PIG) for computing, in collaboration with the San Diego Supercomputer Centre, collaboration via the RUTE network, the Telemedicine Network, participation in the Copernicus Academy Earth Observation programme, online technical training and active engagement in the field of cybersecurity.
The ENRICH Connect session brought together representatives from innovation centres and incubators from around the world. The session concluded with an open invitation from ENRICH to participants to join future collaborations, as well as the announcement of the platform’s upcoming events: a session on food technology and agronomy in June, and an intensive workshop scheduled for July.
CUDI’s participation in this forum reaffirms Mexico’s position as a key player in international education and research networks and underlines the corporation’s commitment to scientific and technological collaboration on a global scale.
