Call for papers now open for the 4th International Symposium on Blockchain and Cybersecurity RIBCi–CYTED 2026

The Ibero-American Blockchain and Cybersecurity Network (RIBCi), with the support of the CYTED programme, has announced the 4th International Symposium on Blockchain and Cybersecurity (RIBCi–CYTED 2026), which will take place on 16 and 17 November 2026 in a hybrid format, combining in-person and virtual participation.

Under the theme “From science to industry: building secure and decentralised ecosystems”, the Symposium establishes itself as an international forum for researchers, professionals, entrepreneurs, public policy makers and students interested in the advances and challenges of digital security and decentralised technologies.

The event aims to foster dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration across fields such as computer science, law, economics, education and public policy, promoting the development of robust, secure, scalable and socially responsible digital ecosystems.

The 2026 edition will be organised by ISCAP – Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto, with scientific support from CEOS.PP – Centro de Estudos Organizacionais e Sociais de Porto, in collaboration with the RIBCi–CYTED network and other academic, industrial and public sector institutions.

Call for papers

The Organising Committee invites the academic and professional community from Ibero-America and other regions to submit their contributions in a wide variety of formats, including full papers, short papers, posters, presentations, case studies, pilot projects and extended abstracts of previously published works.

The thematic areas include, amongst others:

  • Blockchain and cybersecurity in business environments
  • Technology transfer to industry
  • Blockchain in international trade and digital markets
  • Applications in defence and dual-use technologies
  • Blockchain and cybersecurity in science, technology and innovation networks
  • Cybersecurity governance and collaboration between academia, industry and government
  • Distributed ledger technologies (DLT) and artificial intelligence
  • Ethical, legal and social impact of artificial intelligence

Key dates

Papers will be evaluated through a double-blind peer review process and may be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese, following the IEEE or ACM format.

Publication and scientific impact

All accepted contributions will be published in the official proceedings of the Symposium, with individual ISBN and DOI, edited by CEOS.PP Editions. Furthermore, the highest-quality papers will be invited to submit extended versions for possible publication in journals indexed in Clarivate, Scopus, Latindex and IEEE Xplore.
