A key session on cyber threat intelligence will close the Ciberpuentes webinar series.
On December 2, the digital community of the Americas and the Caribbean will once again come together to address one of the most urgent challenges of our time: understanding and anticipating cyber threats.
This event is part of the Ciberpuentes series: “Connecting the Americas for a Safer Research Future,” organized by RedCLARA in partnership with Internet2, CANARIE, and LAC4. Since October, the series has brought together regional experts to share experiences, discuss challenges, and promote best practices in cybersecurity—an essential area for protecting the integrity, reliability, and innovation of the region’s academic and scientific infrastructures.
The session, titled “The Power of Collaboration in Cyber Threat Intelligence,” will be led by Doug Couch, Senior Director of CanSSOC Services (CANARIE), a specialist with 25 years of experience in systems security, data protection, risk management, and incident response.
You can register for this session using this link. As with previous sessions, it will feature simultaneous translation in Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese, ensuring the content's accessibility to the entire international community.
Since its launch on October 7, Ciberpuentes has provided a progressive journey through the challenges and opportunities of cybersecurity in the region. The series opened with “From Digital Deception to Institutional Resilience,” where Jorge Merchán (CEDIA) analyzed the impact of deepfakes, social engineering, and CSIRT response strategies. The cycle continued on October 21 with Iris Palma (LAC4), who explored how to transform knowledge into action to strengthen the cybersecurity culture in research networks. On November 4, the session “Fireside Chat: Zero Trust and Cybersecurity Collaborations,” led by Dameion Brown (Internet2), examined Zero Trust principles and the value of regional collaboration in building more resilient digital communities.
All previous sessions are available on RedCLARA’s YouTube channel. The final session will be available soon, closing a cycle that reinforces cooperation and digital security across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Initiatives like the Ciberpuentes webinar series help strengthen best practices, share knowledge, and build a safer digital environment—not only during Cybersecurity Month (October) but throughout the year.
