On April 3 to 5: Fourth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society in Latin America and the Caribbean

The activity to be held in the Radisson Hotel of Montevideo is organized by ECLAC through the ECLAC @LIS2 project –funded by the European Commission- and the Government of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay through AGESIC, Electronic Government and Information Society Agency).

eLACThis conference will examine the achievements and challenges regarding the regional information society per the agreed targets under the Regional Action Plan for the Information Society, eLAC2015, in order to contribute toward obtaining universal broadband, e-government which is both participatory and transactional, secure access for all SMMEs to ICTs, promote regional integration through ICTs, and universal access and expansion of new technologies in health and education.

The program will include on Wednesday April 3rd the participation of the Deputy General Manager of RedCLARA, Carmen Gloria Labbé in a presentation on the results of the @ LIS Programme- initiative that involves ECLAC, RedCLARA and Regulatel-and on Friday April 5th the intervention of the President of RedCLARA, Ida Holz, in a panel about social inclusion in the digital economy.
