May 6: Join the second session of the Cycle of Virtual Encounters on Smart Cities
Register until May 4, at 16h UTC and participate in the meeting to be held through videoconference in May 6, with the participation of speakers from Chile, Colombia, Spain and Brazil discussing the theme "Academic Contribution on a holistic view of cities."
The development and the growth of the cities impose the challenge of finding innovative and efficient solutions to give response to increasing and diverse needs. Given the size of this task, many actors must converge to find solutions that cover the magnitude of the encountered challenges. This is the case of the digital cities, under which these actors must converge in various spheres - in a strait public-private collaboration –, sharing their knowledge and experiences to allow the scope of a progressive change that translates into improvements in the quality of the life of the citizens.
In this context, alongside with the government and business actors, the higher education institutions are strategic in providing a multidimensional view of the challenge of transforming the cities into more sustainable and effective environments through the use of Information Technologies.
In the second Virtual Encounter on Smart Cities, organized by RedCLARA in alliance with Telefónica, different actors will present their collaborative experiences in Latin America, such as Universidad Austral of Chile (represented by Luis Vidal), Universidad Externado of Colombia (represented by Marco Peres), Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (represented by Federico Álvarez) and Universidad de Sao Paulo in Brazil (represented by Luiz Natal Rossi).
Important dates:
• Last day to register: Monday, 04/05/2015, up to 16h UTC.
• VC test (mandatory): Monday, 05/04/2015, between 15h and 16:30h UTC (only those who completed all the fields of the registration form may participate)
• Virtual Encounter on Smart Cities: Wednesday, 06/05/2015, from 15h to 17h UTC (only the videoconference rooms which performed the VC test can attend the event).
