2015 Iberoamerican Meeting of Digital Cities will be held in Chile

encuentrocdThe XVI Iberoamerican Meeting of Digital Cities, ASIET 2015, which will be held on November 4 and 5 in Santiago, has as main objective to disseminate, discuss and create opportunities for the technological development of cities, in the service of citizenship. Thus, we understand that technology is a mean, not an end, since what really matters is the people and how it can improve education, access to culture, health, public transport, participation and democracy.

(Source: REUNA) The Digital City is a fundamental pillar in the construction of the new Information Society. This is why the Interamerican Association of Telecommunication Companies (ASIET) organizes this world-class event for 16 years, together with the Observatory of Digital Communications (OCD), to be a contribution in the application of technology in the civic development of the cities of the region.

For a Digital City to make sense, citizens should be able to have digital access, ie, they must have quick and easy access to various telecommunication networks. For this to happen it is necessary to contribute to the debate of the area with the vision of people who know the industry, reason why this meeting is the ideal platform to achieve this goal.

The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Santiago, and is sponsored by Corfo and the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications.
