The sixth edition of the TICAL Conference, held from September 13 to 15 in Buenos Aires, was one of the highlights of the latest version of the bulletin of the Association of University Interconnection Networks (ARIU) in Argentina. The organization interviewed Christian O'Flaherty - ISOC representative - and Guillermo Cicileo - LACNIC SSR Coordinator - on the Plenary Session "Opportunities for Universities in the Internet Ecosystem" held during the event.

According to O'Flaherty, TICAL2016 was "a valuable opportunity to reach more universities in the region with a positive and challenging message that will allow them to plan activities that help engage their students in the organizations that make up the Internet ecosystem." The talk also addressed topics such as the opportunities of universities in this "ecosystem" and its challenges in the search for becoming technological references.
