Preparations for the seventh edition of the Conference of the ICT Directors of Latin American universities are in full swing. In the middle of work, however, many people forget simple things, such as verifying if a visa is needed to enter Costa Rica.

In the case of the Central American country that will host TICAL this year, there is a regulation called Guidelines for Entry Visas, which establishes, according to the country, that is, nationality, if  it is necessary to ask for a visa and to what kind of it the person should apply for. According to the document, citizens of some Latin American countries such as Colombia and Ecuador must apply for a visa to enter. Nationals of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, have access allowed only with their passport. To verify the conditions of entry to Costa Rica for your nationality, visit: http://www.migracion.go.cr/extranjeros/visas.html

All those who are going to participate in the event and who need a letter of invitation to request the visa, can send a request with their data to Patricia Araya, from the University of Costa Rica, an allied institution of TICAL2017 (patricia.vasquezaraya@ucr.ac.cr).

The Organizing Committee also asks interested parties to make their registration and reservations in the hotels. TICAL2017 has established agreements that will grant the right to differentiated tariffs for attendees, but the deadline for accessing them closes on June 1. The conference will be held from July 3 to 5 in San José, in parallel to the Latin American e-Science Meeting and the ION Conference (June 3). All the necessary information about TICAL2017 and the list of recommended hotels, plus access to the other two events, are available at: http://tical2017.redclara.net/.
