FRIDA 2023 call for proposals is now open

The Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean (FRIDA) opened its 2023 call to finance projects, initiatives and solutions that contribute to the consolidation of a global, open, stable and secure Internet.

(Source: LACNIC) Focused on three thematic categories: Internet Stability and Security and its subcategory focused on the use and application of Blockchain; Connectivity and Internet Access and Open and Free Internet, those interested may apply under 2 modalities:

  • Grant, aimed at providing non-reimbursable financial financing and technical support to projects, initiatives or solutions with a maximum duration of 12 months,
  • Award, which consists of a distinction accompanied by economic recognition. This last category highlights projects, initiatives or solutions that present concrete evidence of impact.

A new line of non-financial technical support was incorporated to the program, seeking to assist unselected projects in areas such as the development of alliances, access to knowledge and capacity building, feedback and advice, among others. Between 6 and 8 projects that have obtained the best evaluation average will be selected, immediately following the projects selected to receive financing.

The 2023 FRIDA call will be open until Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 23:59 UTC-3.

Further information is found in the bases of the call.
