LACNIC launches the second edition of the IT Women Mentoring Program

Considering the relevance and need to promote the training, participation and professional development of women in technical areas at the regional level, LACNIC announced the annual call for the IT Women Mentoring Program, which is open for the reception of applications until 29 October.

This LACNIC program seeks to promote the participation, leadership, and professional development of women in the technical community and the Internet ecosystem, particularly in LACNIC's spaces for participation. Through the program, the promotion of a new generation of technical women who approach the community is promoted. In this second edition of the program, six professional women will be selected to produce a technical work with the accompaniment of a mentor, receiving technical and soft skills training, as well as the opportunity to present their work as a flash talk at the LACNIC 37 event.

The call is open to women with a technical profile who are based in Latin America and the Caribbean and who are interested in preparing a technical paper that will contribute to network deployment or management, or to the promotion of Internet standards adoption and deployment in the region. These papers may focus on the study of Internet technologies as well as on the documentation of technical implementations.

The winners will be announced on November 11, and the mentoring period will be from November 16, 2021 to April 8, 2022.
