TICAL and e-Science Meeting announce two new international speakers

One is an American, a Big Data "wizard" and an old acquaintance of the conference public. Another comes from Poland and is known for leading one of the most prestigious brain research projects in the world. Martin Hilbert and Paweł Świeboda have joined the group of international speakers for the plenary sessions of the events that will take place between August 30 and September 2, again in virtual and free of charge format.

Świeboda is the General Director of the Human Brain Project (HBP), one of the world's largest research initiatives in the area of brain sciences. He is also in charge of building a state-of-the-art research infrastructure for brain research: EBRAINS. Prior to his appointment to these roles, he was Deputy Director and Head of Research at the Center for European Political Strategy and later IDEA at the European Commission (EC).

From the United States, Professor Martin Hilbert from the University of California (Davis) comes to TICAL for the second time. The Big Data expert had already been a panelist in the 2018 edition, held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, and will once again bring to the public of the conference his experience of more than ten years at ECLAC of the United Nations Secretariat and his efforts to understand the role of information and knowledge in the social and economic development of complex systems.
