REUNA Chile will launch new sections of its high-speed network

The national research and education network of Chile, REUNA, will officially launch two new sections of its high-speed optical network, connecting the cities of Arica and La Serena, and Santiago and Valparaíso, in a virtual event to be held on May 4, at 11am in Santiago (3pm GMT).

The Chilean Minister of Science, Andrés Couve, the rectors of REUNA's partner universities with a presence in the sections, and the ambassador of the European Union in Chile, León de la Torre, as well as representatives of REUNA. Paola Arellano, its Executive Director, and its president, José Palacios, will participate at the event.

The opening of the two sections is part of the REUNA national integration project with the regional and international efforts promoted by RedCLARA and the BELLA project in its terrestrial phase.
