Until November 16: Register for the first “Introduction to Internet Governance in LAC” course, by LACNIC

From November 3 to 16, registrations will be open for the first "Introduction to Internet Governance in LAC" course, organized by the LACNIC Campus with the valuable support of ICANN and LACTLD.

(Source: LACNIC) The initiative aims to introduce participants from the Latin America and the Caribbean region to Internet governance from a broad perspective. For this, not only aspects related to the management of critical Internet resources will be addressed, such as IP addresses, DNS and Internet protocols, but also different problems associated with Internet use and its impact on the social and economical spheres.

In this way, both institutional elements of the Internet ecosystem, such as its architecture, as well as issues such as human rights and the Internet, the digital economy, cybersecurity and other emerging ones, such as Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence, will be treated.

The course will be taught in self-assisted virtual mode and in Spanish; It requires a dedication of approximately 30 hours, distributed in 5 hours weekly dedication. Participants will have six weeks to complete the different modules. In each of them the student will be able to carry out optional self-assessments. Finally, the participantes must carry out a final evaluation in order to obtain the certification.
