The Executive Director of RedCLARA, Luis Eliécer Cadenas, and the Chief Collaborator Officer of Géant, Cathrin Stöver, together with other ICT authorities from Latin America participated last September 21 in the celebration of the 15 years of institutional life of the National Research and Education Network of Ecuador, RedCEDIA.

At the gala event, held at the Sucre Theater, in Cuenca, the President of CEDIA, Nicolay Samaniego, its Executive Director Juan Pablo Carvallo and its former presidente Marcelo Jaramillo recalled the history, development and implementation of the network, counting how it has boosted the development of research and academia at national and regional levels. Cathrin Stöver, in his presentation, also recalled the history of the formation and implementation of RedCLARA - and the history of CEDIA in this context - through the ALICE project of which CLARA was leader. The attendees could also enjoy a cocktail accompanied by an artistic presentation of the popular dance group "Wayrapamushka" and "Ayllu Llakta" music.

"We are very excited about all the work we have done over these 15 years. There is a phrase from Confucius that says 'Find a job you like and you will never have to work'. I think this sums up the sentiment of all of us who work at CEDIA. We love what we do and this motivates us to move forward", said Juan Pablo Carvallo.

The event featured live streaming video, which is available at https://youtu.be/2JQ0gyZukUI. For more information on CEDIA, visit https://www.cedia.edu.ec
