Rafael Rodríguez Maldonado, new executive director of RENATA Colombia

The Board of Directors of the National Academic Network of Advanced Technology of Colombia, RENATA, appointed Rafael Rodríguez Maldonado as the new executive director of the NREN.

(Source: RENATA) The main challenge of the new director is to position RENATA, its infrastructure, its collaboration tools and its capacity for management and coordination, among the leaders and members of universities, research centres, R&D laboratories, innovation centres, multilateral organizations, the Government, and private companies.

Rafael Rodríguez, who took office on May 12, 2020, is from Bogotá, an electronic engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, a specialist in business administration from the Universidad de los Andes and has studies in management and evaluation of investment projects from the Universidad Externado de Colombia.

The new executive director of RENATA is an expert in research, structuring and comprehensive management of infrastructure and technology projects, as well as in the articulation of projects of national, regional, and local scope.

Before assuming the Executive Direction of RENATA, he worked advising, structuring, and managing strategic infrastructure projects and solutions for sustainable cities at the National and District levels.
