United against Coronavirus: Brazilian institutes join forces with SCALAC in offering computing capacity for COVID-19 Research

The Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Postgraduate and Research of Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE-UFRJ), and the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC), both from Brazil, join forces with SCALAC and make available to researchers and scientists, free of charge, the data processing capabilities of their supercomputers for research in search of the solution to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

The COPPE-UFRJ supercomputer is the “Lobo Carneiro”. The supercomputer of the LNCC, in turn, is the "Santos Dumont". The two supercomputers together offer a capacity of 1.4 Petaflops for COVID-19 research.

Those interested should submit their projects must use the forms and links presented below. The evaluation commissions are working “fast-track” for projects related to COVID-19, so that the proposals can be accepted quickly and remotely.
