Program of TICAL2018 and the 2nd Latin American e-Science Meeting is already available online

The Program Committee of TICAL2018 and the 2nd Latin American e-Science Meeting published this Tuesday, July 17, the detailed program of the events, which will take place between September 3 and 5, at the Las Americas Convention Center, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

TICAL and ‘e-Ciencia’ will be developed jointly for the second consecutive year and will start at 8 a.m. of Monday, September 3, with the opening of the registration desk, followed by the inauguration of the Business Fair. As well as in 2017, the events will also share its plenary sessions, counting with the confirmed presence of international panelists such as William Confalonieri, Digital Director of Deakin University (Monday, September 3) and Martin Hilbert, Professor at the University of California, Davis (Tuesday, September 4).

Confalonieri will bring to TICAL2018 his experience ahead of the Deakin Genie project, chosen as the best IT project in Australia. Hilbert, meanwhile, will share his vast experience in Big Data and more than 10 years in the ECLAC of the Secretariat of the United Nations, where he created and coordinated the Information Society Program.

The traditional parallel sessions will take place during the three days and will be the space dedicated to the presentation of the papers selected in the calls. TICAL will privilege works that present the results of experiences of implementing ICT solutions and strategies in thematic areas such as collaboration, process improvement, personalization, governance and ICT management. The e-Science Meeting, in turn, will prioritize areas such as e-Health, IoT and e-Science, and Online Creation.

The events will also have exclusive workshops on High Performance Computing (by RICAP), Cyberinfrastructure for Science, University Management Indicators, Maners (by Internet Society) and Scientific Data and Open Access, among others. Registration with discounts

For those who have not registered, an important notice: The deadline to get access to the promotional registration fees closes next August 2. The registration considers, in addition to the attendance to the TICAL2018 Conference and the 2nd Latin American Meeting of e-Science, the participation in the gala dinner, to be held at the beach in front of the Las Americas Convention Center, the delivery of the event material, lunches and coffees.
