LACNIC launches call for papers for its new Technical Forum

The LACNIC Technical Forum (FTL, for its acronym in Spanish) is a new space created within the framework of LACNIC's annual events to provide the international community the chance to present their technical experiences, work and initiatives around a central theme: Internet development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In this context, LACNIC invites the Internet community to submit proposals for presentations to be included on the FTL agenda for LACNIC29, the upcoming event to be held in the city of Panama from 30 April / 4 may 2018.

The modalities of presentation are two: Lightning talk - short presentations of 10 minutes with 5 additional minutes for questions - and 'Presentation' - 25 minute expositions with 5 additional minutes for questions. The topics to be covered by the presentation should be geared towards and related to regional Internet development and the topics of interest include‘Operation of networks and professional experiences’, ‘Internet Protocols’, ‘Applications for end users’, ‘value-added services’, among others.

  • Call for proposals opens: 19 December 2017
  • Deadline for receiving proposals: 6 February 2018
  • Evaluation by the Program Committee: 7-23 February 2018
  • Submission of final presentations: 26 March to 19 April 2018
  • Event date: 30 April / 4 may 2018
