January 10, 15:00 GMT: "Copernicus Program: Earth observation initiatives for Latin America and the Caribbean" Webinar

The webinar "Copernicus Programme: Earth Observation Initiatives for Latin America and the Caribbean" will take place on Tuesday, January 10, at 15h GMT with the aim of socializing the experience and impact of the Copernicus Program in Latin America and the Caribbean, and discuss how to use the data from it to improve the quality of life in the region.

The event will count with the participation of Stephane Ourevitch, from the Copernicus Support Office, in Brussels, who will share her knowledge with managers, teachers, researchers and students from Latin America and the Caribbean interested in learning about possibilities and experiences in using data in earth observation. The moderation will be by Laura Castellana, RedCLARA Academic Projects Coordinator.

Copernicus is a European Union programme that looks at our planet and its environment for the maximum benefit of various continents. It offers information services based on satellite Earth observation data and in situ (non-space) data. The European Commission coordinates and manages the programme, in which also participate its Member States, the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (Eumetsat), the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, the agencies of the EU and the company Mercator Océan.

"Copernicus Programme: Earth Observation Initiatives for Latin America and the Caribbean" is an initiative of RedCLARA in alliance with  Copernicus and the European Commission, and the support of the work team of the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SICA).
