February 15, 4pm GMT: "Computing Capacities in the Region: Opportunities and new ways"

With the aim of presenting two of the main advanced computing centers in South America and discussing the possibilities of supporting scientific activity that requires high-performance computing capabilities, the Webinar "Computing Capacities in the Region: Opportunities and New Ways"  will take place on Monday, February 15th, at 4:00 p.m. GMT, organized by RedCLARA and the Advanced Computing System of Latin America and the Caribbean (SCALAC).

The webinar will feature the participation of experts such as Dr. Carla Osthoff, SCALAC's education and transfer coordinator, who will present the work of the Brazilian National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) and Dr. Ginés Guerrero, SCALAC's HPC infrastructure coordinator, who will present the activities developed by the National HPC Laboratory of Chile. Carlos Jaime Barrios Hernández, General Coordinator of SCALAC, will moderate the session.

SCALAC, together with RedCLARA, facilitates the sharing of advanced computing resources, data and knowledge for projects of regional interest. Currently, the organization links other similar consortia in Europe and the American continent through open initiatives and projects.
