RedCLARA and its member networks RAU, CUDI and RNP (the national research and education networks of Uruguay, Mexico and Brazil, respectively) are competing in the category “Collaboration in e-Culture” of the 2021 e-Culture Award, organized by Anilla Cultural Latin America-Europe in Uruguay, in order to assess collaborative and co-creative work in advanced internet networks in the cultural field in art, science, technology and society.

Recognizing the ongoing policy challenge to balance openness and Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) protection, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will carry out, next Friday, April 23, from 10h to 12h GMT, an expert meeting to discuss the relationships between IPRs and Open Science, present the different existing instruments and mechanisms that reconcile ownership and sharing/openness, and to exchange on balanced IPRs and Open Science policies and strategies.

The University Corporation for Internet Development, A.C. (CUDI), operator of the National Education and Research Network (NREN) of Mexico, will carry out on Thursday 15 and Friday 16, April, between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm GMT (8:00 am to 11:00 am in Mexico) a virtual meeting for its member institutions, called "Dialogue on the National Education and Research Network". The meeting will count with the participation of Luis Eliécer Cadenas and Eduardo Grizendi, Executive Director and President of the Board of Directors of RedCLARA, respectively.
