Five years of safeguarding higher education: The 10th CUDI Cybersecurity Conference is here
The University Corporation for Internet Development (CUDI), through its Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), is celebrating an unprecedented milestone in the history of university cybersecurity in Mexico: the holding of its 10th Cybersecurity Conference.
(Source: CUDI) From 21 to 25 September 2026 in Mexico, the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH) will host this training event, which over the past five years has consolidated the first line of digital defence for the country’s higher education institutions.
This year’s event will take place in person and will bring together staff from the IT Security and Information Technology departments of CUDI’s member higher education institutions, as well as representatives from the Latin American National Research and Education Networks (NREN) and leading companies in the cybersecurity ecosystem.
The 10th Conference is committed to providing high-quality tools and ongoing training to maintain the operational continuity of universities in the face of current challenges.
The conference agenda will address topics of high impact and critical relevance:
- Application of offensive and defensive penetration testing.
- Digital Forensic Investigations.
- Analysis of real-world ransomware attack cases.
- The role of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity.
- Basic monitoring of network resources.
Each workshop and conference has been designed to provide practical skills that can be applied within university environments.
Celebrating ten editions is not merely a figure: it is evidence that the Mexican university community understands that the security of its networks, data and services is as fundamental as the academic work itself. In a context where cyber-attacks on the education sector have multiplied globally, having a space for specialised, sustained and high-level training represents an invaluable strategic advantage.
