IDB Civil Society Forum and Key Actors will address the impact of innovation and collaboration

Santiago de Chile will be the epicenter of one of the most important meetings for development in Latin America and the Caribbean: the Annual Meeting of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest), the IDB’s private sector area.

The event will bring together leaders from the 48 member countries of the agency, as well as more than 4,000 participants from the public, private and multilateral sectors, promoting dialogue on the main economic and investment challenges, at a key moment for the design of transformative policies in the region.

In parallel to the official meetings, the Civil Society and Key Actors Forum will be held, a space for dialogue aimed at strengthening collaboration between the IDB and organizations of civil society, academia, multilateral agencies and innovative companies. The forum seeks to project diverse voices, from territories to global agendas, to co-design sustainable solutions adapted to current challenges.

The inaugural session of this forum will include the "Innovation and Civil Society" panel, an opportunity to rethink the role of digitization with purpose, new technology economies and strengthening collaborative networks.

RedCLARA Executive Director, Luis Eliécer Cadenas, will be one of the featured panelists along with Robinson López, Director of AGROS Peru, a company that promotes the use of technology to strengthen rural producer associations, and Irene Arias, CEO of BID Lab. The forum will discuss the key role of civil society, governments and the private sector in promoting sustainable and inclusive growth. In particular, it will explore how civil society organizations (CSOs) can leverage emerging technologies such as Web3 and Blockchain to optimize their impact and operational efficiency.

Cadenas' intervention will address the evolution of RedCLARA, its impact in the region and how organizations with which it collaborates have improved their performance by adopting new technologies. In addition, experiences, best practices and innovative solutions from AGROS and RedCLARA will be shared, with the aim of inspiring and offering concrete tools to strengthen the work of CSOs for sustainable development.

The meeting will foster a constructive debate between different sectors, with a special focus on inclusion and sustainability. The importance of technological solutions adapted to regional challenges and international collaboration as a driver of development will be highlighted.
