FRIDA 2022 call for proposals is now open

LACNIC's FRIDA Program has opened its 2022 call for proposals to provide funding to projects, initiatives, and solutions that contribute to the consolidation of a global, open, stable, and secure Internet.

(Source: LACNIC) This year's call for proposals focuses on three thematic categories: Internet Stability and Security; Connectivity and Internet Access; and Open and Free Internet. Each of these categories covers specific thematic areas. In addition, this year FRIDA has included a new subcategory focused on the use and application of Blockchain under the Internet Stability and Security category.

FRIDA was created in 2004 with the support of two Canadian government entities. It is currently developed, coordinated, and funded exclusively by LACNIC. Since its inception, FRIDA has provided grants to 114 projects and 7 scale-ups. The program has also presented 47 awards.

The call for proposals of the 2022 edition of FRIDA will remain open until Tuesday, 31 May 2022. For more information about how to apply and other requirements, please visit www.programafrida.net or contact frida@lacnic.net
