RedCLARA’s Federation is announced as new member of eduGAIN
The announcement of the approval - in an election that had the highest number of voters in eduGAIN history - of FIEL, RedCLARA’s Federation, and of the Federation of Thailand, ThaiIDF, was made by the Chair and secretariat of eduGAIN early on April 5.
The eduGAIN interfederation service connects identity federations around the world, simplifying access to content, services and resources for the global research and education community. eduGAIN comprises over 70 participant federations connecting more than 8,000 Identity and Service Providers. eduGAIN enables the trustworthy exchange of information related to identity, authentication and authorisation (AAI) by coordinating elements of the federations’ technical infrastructure and providing a policy framework that controls this information exchange.
Through FIEL (Identity Federations for Latin American - Federaciones de Identidad para redes de Educación Latinoamericanas), RedCLARA provides and promotes access to these federations among its partner networks and affiliated institutions, bringing users closer to their peers and to multiple services in the region and in other federations around the world. In addition, in institutions within countries of the region that do not yet have academic networks and / or federations, RedCLARA provides this same service through specialized advice, which allows you to connect and access this and the many other services offered by the research and education community.
