15 April: RUTE ALC invites you to a regional webinar on public health policies in Latin America and the Caribbean

With the aim of promoting analysis and the exchange of experiences regarding the region’s health systems, the University Telemedicine Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (RUTE ALC) will hold the webinar “Public health policies in the context of Latin America and the Caribbean” on Wednesday 15 April.

The 90-minute event will bring together specialists, regional organisations interested in cooperation on Digital Health,  academic and scientific communities that are part of the academic networks comprising RedCLARA, health professionals and managers involved in Digital Health, and coordinators and participants from regional GIS, to reflect on the role of public policies in the organisation of health systems, their impact on reducing inequalities, and the common challenges faced by countries in the region.

The session will address topics such as the foundations and relevance of public health policies, current regional challenges, the relationship between quality and public policy, as well as an analysis of the regulatory framework and a notable example from Ecuador. The event will also include a question-and-answer session and a discussion, encouraging active participation from the audience.

The webinar will be moderated by Ericka Velásquez (Fundapi, Ecuador) and will feature contributions from Javier Orellana (RISAD, Ecuador), as well as Mr Javier Buenaño, a representative from Ecuador’s Ministry of Public Health.

The webinar will be streamed via RUTE ALC’s RCC platform at the following times:

  • 9:00 am Mexico and Costa Rica
  • 10:00 am Colombia and Ecuador
  • 11:00 am Chile
  • 12:00 pm Brazil
