May 28: RUTE-ALC to explore AI adoption in public health across Latin America and the Caribbean

On Tuesday, May 28, a new session of the Latin American and Caribbean Telemedicine University Network (RUTE-ALC) will take place, focusing on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the digital transformation of the health sector.

The event aims to provide a space for dialogue and analysis on the challenges and opportunities of adopting AI in public health systems, as well as in the fields of education and research. Discussions will address the need to strengthen professional capacities—including ethical and regulatory considerations—and the importance of building data science environments that enable the rigorous development and validation of technological solutions for healthcare.

Featured panelists include Manuel Rodríguez Arce, Innovation and Digital Health Coordinator at the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, and Diego Robles Cruz, research professor at the Institute of Technology for Innovation in Health and Wellbeing at Universidad Andrés Bello. The session will be moderated by Dr. Paulo Lopes, Digital Health Specialist at RNP.

The session will be streamed live via the Community Collaboration Networks (RCC) platform at the following times:
