October 10: Exclusive Seminar on AI and Cybersecurity

As part of the BELLA II project, RedCLARA and the Cyber Competence Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC4) announce an exclusive seminar titled “AI and Cybersecurity: Threats and Opportunities,” aimed at the National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) that are members of RedCLARA.

On October 10, the Cybersecurity Group of Latin America and the Caribbean Research and Education Networks (eduLACSeg) will virtually organize this Cybersecurity Month event, offering simultaneous interpretation in both Spanish and English. The seminar aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Latin America and Caribbean region, addressing both the benefits and risks that AI poses to information security and cybersecurity.

Topics include the current state of AI in the LAC region, the development and implementation of this technology, the interfaces between AI and cybersecurity, policy responses, and the framework of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) for risk management and mitigation in AI.

The seminar will feature prominent experts, including Amit Ashkenazi from Israel, an expert consultant in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data protection, and information technologies who served as a legal advisor to the National Cybersecurity Directorate of Israel and the country's Data Protection Authority. Also participating will be Luis Adrián Salazar from Costa Rica, former Minister of Science, Technology, and Telecommunications of Costa Rica, an expert in digitization, cybersecurity, and new technologies with extensive experience in technological management and market development.

This event is exclusively for NREN member institutions. Interested parties should contact their respective NRENs directly for more information. Alternatively, you can also send an email to servicios@redclara.net.
