September 18: The Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem's 2nd Spanish Webinar

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 17:30 CEST (9:30 AM in Central America, 10:30 AM in Colombia and Mexico City), the second Spanish-language webinar on the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) will take place, organized by the EU Space Support Office (EUSSO). Titled "Advanced Use of the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE)—Practical Demonstration," this event will feature Roberto Matellanes, a GIS and Copernicus expert from EUSSO, who will guide attendees through the advanced features of the Copernicus Browser.

The first event on July 18 introduced the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE), which is the subject of this second webinar. Launched in January 2023 as the next step in the evolution of access to Copernicus Earth Observation data, the CDSE has replaced the Copernicus Open Access Hub, which ceased operations in November 2023, and the DIAS (Data and Information Access Services), an EU initiative that provided access and processing services for spatial data. The CDSE is now the primary platform for advanced access and management of Copernicus spatial data.

The ecosystem provides instant access to large volumes of open and free data from the Copernicus Sentinel satellites, including current and historical images, as well as a selection of data from Copernicus Services. Its goal is to provide users with tools and resources to fully leverage Copernicus data in the cloud via a platform that is accessible to a wide audience.

During the session, Matellanes will provide practical examples and demonstrate how to explore, visualize, and analyze spatial data without needing to install software or download large volumes of data. Data scientists, researchers, students, and anyone interested in Earth observation are the target audience for this webinar. All the participants are encouraged to follow the demonstration on their own devices for a more immersive experience.
