February 20: "Mainstreaming Cybersecurity in the Development Agenda of LAC" Webinar

In the context of the need to accelerate secure digital transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean, the webinar "Integrating Cybersecurity into the LAC Development Agenda" will be held on Tuesday, February 20, at 15:00 GMT (9h from CDMX, 12h from Buenos Aires), bringing together experts, practitioners and policy makers with the objective of discussing and raising awareness about the importance of cybersecurity as an integral part of the region's digital growth.

The event will be divided into two main sessions. In the first, Nikolas Ott, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at Microsoft Corporation, Caroline Troein, Inter-Thematic Program Officer at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will address the topic "The importance of digital development as an enabling function to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)".

The second will be an open round of discussion on the topic of cybersecurity, with the participation of experts Ingrid Hernandez, Presidential Advisor of the Digital Transformation Advisor and Coordinator of Digital Transformation (Presidency of the Republic of Colombia), Mauricio Papaleo, Director of Information Security of the Agency for the Development of the Government of Electronic Management and the Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC) of the Republic of Uruguay, Gezer Molina, Director of Cybersecurity of the Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) of Costa Rica and Carlos Leonardo, Director of the National CSIRT, Dominican Republic.

The activity is open to the general public and to all those who understand the role of cybersecurity in supporting a safe and secure digital transformation, wish to explore the importance of digital development as an enabling function to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and learn about past and ongoing cyber capacity building projects that drive development in the region.
