Con la finalidad de poner a disposición de investigadores y educadores los recursos de cómputo avanzado a beneficio de la e-ciencia, se firmó el primer acuerdo regional para dar continuidad a la operación de la e-infraestructura basada en tecnología GRID en Latinoamérica. Los países firmantes fueron Ecuador, México y Colombia a través de sus redes nacionales de investigación y educación, CEDIA, CUDI y RENATA, respectivamente. Ayer, se sumó al acuerdo Costa Rica, a través de CONARE.
In the context of the COAR General Assembly 2012, held in Uppsala (Sweden) on May 21st and 22nd, 2012, the Director of LA Referencia, Carmen Gloria Labbé (RedCLARA), was elected as Vice-President of COAR. Thus, Latin America properly became a member of the most relevant international association of open access repositories.
